*************************************************************************** * Last Callers PPE 0.82 written by Paul N. Naylor * *************************************************************************** INSTALLATION **Upgrading from previous version? You will need to install LC01.PPE in the logon script file along with LC.PPE. LC.PPE only LOGS information. You need LC01.PPE to display the previous callers.** ** The following instructions assume that you are using C:\pcb as your PCBoard path. If yours is different, make the appropriate substutions. (For example if you are on a network and your drive letter is 'Z' then your path would be z:\pcb and you would install the files in z:\pcb\ppe\lc I am still working on this progam. I will continue to improve it and work out the bugs. Please check Salt Air BBS or Share City BBS for new updates. **** 1. Create a subdirectory for the Last Caller files. For example c:\pcb\ppe\lc 2. Put all files from LC.ZIP into this subdirectory. 3. Put !c:\pcb\ppe\lc\lc.ppe (assuming the default directory) !c:\pcb\ppe\lc\lc01.ppe into either your logon script file or in security logon files. You may also put them in a prompt in PCBTEXT. The advantage to putting it in security files is that you can then prevent it from logging sysop activity. Future versions will have the ability to configure that. If you don't want it to display the callers at logon, only put LC.PPE in the script file. LC01.PPE is what actually displays the callers. 4. Edit CMD.LST (using PCBSETUP) and add the command "LC" and define it as c:\pcb\ppe\lc\lc01.ppe. This will allow users to type "LC" at the main prompt and get a display of previous callers. 5. Run CONFIG.EXE to set up LC to look and feel like you want. 6. Create a BLT file with "!c:\pcb\ppe\lc\lc02.ppe" if you want a bulletin of todays callers. 7. Create a BLT file with "!c:\pcb\ppe\lc\lc03.ppe" if you want a bulletin of yesterdays callers. 8. Log-on your BBS and see what happens. Every time a user logs on, it should display the list. Also, you can type "LC" at the main prompt to give you a listing anytime you are on line. Try the BLT functions to make sure they work. 9. After registration, you will get the "HIST" command that will let you search for log on information for beyond the last callers. Registration will remove the delay and "unregistered" message. 10. If you have any questions, suggestions or criticism please write a message to me on Share City BBS(conf #71), Salt Air BBS, or call me at 801-466-8797. 11. If you find the utility useful, please make a small contribution. I am asking $10.00. You may mail me a check, or call me with Credit Card info. I will attach a copy of the registered version to a message so you can download it and get running fast. 12. The latest version is available of Salt Air or Share City BBS conference #71. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Paul Naylor PO Box 25232 Salt Lake City, UT 84125-0232 Voice: (801) 466-8797 Fax: (801) 487-4936 Share City BBS: (801) 280-8443 (Conf. #71) Compuserve: 71550,632 Rime: ->SHARECITY Internet: paul.naylor@saltair.com ============================================================================
