TagEm! Help File With the release of RemoteAccess 2.02, and it's new TAGFILES.RA, a Door such as TagEm! becomes possible. If you are calling a RemoteAccess BBS system running version 2.02, TagEm! will allow you to upload a plain Ascii file, listing the files you want, and cause RemoteAccess to "Tag" them for you, and have them ready for Download when you exit the Door. This Door can ease your retrival of files, and cut your online time. You won't need to view/tag files on the BBS. How To Do It: The first step is to obtain the BBS's FileList. If they do not make one available, then ask the Sysop to do so. Although, if you are reading this on a system, then its assumed they have a list, else why run this Door? Now, view the BBS file list, note the files you want. Fire up your favorite Ascii editor, and list the files you want, one file per line, filenames must start in column ONE. If the file requires a Password, it must follow the filename, on the same line, and MUST begin in column #15. Sample Format: 1 2 3 123456789012345678901234567890 (don't include the ruler lines) TAGEM10.ZIP DORBETA.ZIP crapple PKZ204G.EXE |____________ Password starts in col #15, maximum 15 chars . | . |______________________ Filenames, maximum 12 characters . IMPORTANT! This file "MUST" be named OFR.LST (for Online File Request), in order for TagEm! to open and read it. You can enter as many files as you wish, BUT.... as RemoteAccess will only accept up to 100 files, TagEm! will not read any past that number. Also, the Sysop can set the "Maximum Number of Files" that you may Tag with TagEm!. So the Door will not read your file list past this number. 100 or the Sysops maximum number. NOTE: When you are on the BBS, you may also TAG files using the RemoteAccess file tagging feature, if the Sysop has it activated. These files will also be included, along with the files in your OFR.LST. It is reccomended that you tag files Online "BEFORE" you run the door to process your list! When you enter the Door, you will be presented a Menu. Your first choice, othere than "Read Instructions" (this file), should be "Upload List", TagEm! will ask you if you're ready to send it, and prompt you to begin your upload. You can, after receipt of the file, begin Tagging, or return to Menu. There is also an option to Page The Sysop, should you have a question, or problems. The Sysop will have defined the hours you may page, if you are not allowed to page at that time, you will be displayed a message, and returned to the menu. The Sysop may also completly disable paging in TagEm! If this is the case, you will be advised of this, and returned to the menu. If for some reason there is an error in the File Transfer, TagEm! will notify you, and return to the Menu. Please notify the Sysop if this occurs. After successful receipt of the file, you will be returned to the menu, where you should then choose "Process List - Tag Files" TagEm! will read your list, find the files, and add them to the Tagged Files data file. As each one is searched for, the name will be displayed, and also "Found!" or "Not Found...", depending on the outcome. The Sysop may have implemented the AutoMode in TagEm!, if this is turned on, when you enter the door, you will bypass the opening screens and menu, and be taken right to the upload section. If your list is received OK, you will proceed directly to the Tagging section. Upon completion of the above procedures, you will be sent to the Exit procedure, and returned to the BBS. If there are errors during AutoMode, you will be returned to the BBS. Once the list has been processed, you will be shown a Status Report, showing the outcome: Maximum Allowed : Files Processed : Files Not Found : Security Violations: Password Violations: Total Tagged : TagEm! will not let you "TAG" files that require a Security Level higher than you currently have, including the Flag Settings. When you are returned to the BBS, the files you tagged with TagEm!, including any you tagged in the BBS, prior to entering TagEm!, will be ready for you to Download! It is hoped you enjoy using TagEm!, and the speed increase for Downloads that TagEm! gives you. Rand Nowell, RaLin Enterprises Software and your BBS's Sysop!
