After the original VEDIT hit the pages of BYTE magazine in 1980 it became the

The VEDIT Family of editors are written entirely in assembly language and
offer stunning speed.  They are 3 to 30 times faster than the competition on
large files where speed really counts.  And they are small - only 50K for
VEDIT Jr. and 70K for VEDIT and VEDIT PLUS.

VEDIT has all the features of VEDIT Jr. and the ability to simultaneously edit
two or more files at the same time.  The screen can be split into windows for
viewing multiple files or different parts of one file.

VEDIT's Compiler Support integrates your favorite compilers, assemblers,
linkers, debuggers and Make utilities within VEDIT.  It is very flexible and
automatically tracks compilation errors, supports "include" files and lets you
easily change the Compiler and other options from a menu.

VEDIT PLUS has all the features of VEDIT and, additionally, a powerful macro
programming language.  The macro language is accessed via the "Command" mode

While VEDIT does not let you develop your own "macros", all macros written for

networks.

A generic MS-DOS version runs on non-IBM type computers and on CRT terminals
connected to an IBM PC via serial lines and modems.

The UNIX/XENIX version supports most variations of UNIX running on Intel
80286/80386/80486 processors.

systems.  A version for Quantum QNX and a special mode to emulate "vi" 100%
will be available in December 1990.  Support for OS/2 is also planned.
