Hello,

Here is the sixth archive we have released for the BinkleyTerm-NT 2.60
beta test program.

You are bound by your agreement not to disclose information about this
test in public. As there was no legal document involved, what is at stake 
is your honor. Please don't cast it aside lightly.

Here are the known features and constraints for this version:

1) You must use BinkleyTerm's method of locking baudrates as there is no
FOSSIL driver to do this for you. People who are familiar with the OS/2 
version may be more aware of this way of doing things -- the only real
difference from OS/2 being that you don't need any MODE statement. Bink NT
sets all com parameters that it requires.

2) Maximum baudrate is 115200.

3) Janus should probably not be enabled for highspeed sessions (e.g.
Janusbaud should be 2400 with no JanusOK strings). If you want to play 
with Janus, my current results indicate that sessions will complete and 
files will move, but the throughput will leave a little to be desired. 
This will get much better in my next iteration through the com code.

4) Keep a modem connected to the com port. As of this moment if you 
disconnect the modem or turn it off Bink will freeze. This is another thing
that will improve in the next com code iteration.

5) Bink should work with anything that runs OK on NT (mail editors, etc).
If it doesn't work with something that works on NT, let us know.

6) As of this moment, we haven't gotten this to work with MaxNT. But we
think it can be done. Keep us posted on this.

There probably are a few more that I can't think of at the moment. You'll
find them <grin>.

I've used this to do point mail and as the old dumb terminal program. So
consider both to be fair game in your testing.

WARNING!! DON'T ENTRUST ANYTHING TO THIS SOFTWARE THAT YOU CAN'T LIVE
WITHOUT! IF WE KNEW FOR ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN THAT IT WAS GOING TO FUNCTION
PERFECTLY AND SEND/RECEIVE EVERYTHING PERFECTLY, NEVER DISTURB STUFF IT
SHOULDN'T, ETC WE WOULDN'T BE RUNNING A TEST, WOULD WE? USE WITH CARE!!!

If you already have a BinkleyTerm configuration, use the files you already 
have. The additional files here are for convenience' sake. All you really 
need for an existing configuration should be binkley.lng and bt32.exe.
