This is an informational packet outlining the details of the "Information Brokers Network". What is it?: The Information Brokers Network, hereinafter referred to as IBN, is an Association of Information Brokers who provide electronic information and services to clients and customers of each Broker. Member Brokers will be known in this document as Hosts or Member Hosts. Purpose: The IBN is formed to create and perpetuate an electronic network of Brokers that specialize in providing to customers and clients electronic information or services for a fee. IBN will be a network HUB in Columbus, Ohio, providing electronic transmission availability of information, information resources, information sources, and confidential and public messages between the different IBN Hosts throughout the world. IBN will provide Host advertising for the purposes of educating potential business customers of each Host system. Such methods to be determined by Member Hosts of IBN. IBN will be a resource for each Host system for exchanging electronic information, and information resources, between member Hosts. Member Host Requirements: Potential members will be electronic Information Brokers or those with the knowledge and available computer and electronic communications systems for providing electronic information and services for a fee. Recommended minimum modem transmission rates at no less than 9600baud. Hosts must be capable of exchanging files, information, and public and/or confidential messages between Member Hosts and the IBN HUB. This may be in the form of FidoNet or QWK mail packet technology and processes. Host will maintain their system and be capable of receiving mail packets from the IBN Hub at the mail exchange hour that has been agreed to. IBN HUB: The IBN Hub will be located in Columbus Ohio. Other Hubs, controlled solely by the Columbus IBN Hub, may be formed in other major US and International cities in order to carry out the mission and functions of the IBN Hub. The IBN Hub will maintain high speed modems, computer and/or computers of sufficient type and size, computer devices and programs in order to carry out the mission and purpose of the IBN Network.
