MMHSCR15.xxx - notes & comments. (9-20-93) Included is the batch file that runs my mail event, and the Qmodem script I use for TriBBS mailruns. The script itself is annotated and editing should be fairly self explanatory. The batch file also needs editing for your use: - correct the path names to match your setup - replace the "-------" strings with appropriate BBS names and QWK/REP labels. The batch file calls two other utils, OH! will put your modem on/off hook. (filename OH!230.ZIP on MMH-BBS) Some internal modems require the OH! command to be repeated 2-3 times for reliable response. Watchkit/pup is a carrier/HD activity monitor for rebooting a hung system. (filename WATCHKIT.ZIP on MMH-BBS) These two utilities are optional. If you want, just delete those lines that refer to either OH! or Watchpup/kit. ** TRINET NOTE ** important!! In the trinet config file do _NOT_ use the "NOAPPEND" command. By allowing TriNet to append new material to an existing REP packet you will noy loose outgoing messages if an upload or connection fails and the system runs the event again later. The following is a brief description of the batch file for anyone unfamiliar with the DOS functions used. ---------- SECTION 1: Shut off watchpup carrier monitor, Puts modem off hook so your event won't be distrubed by any callers. Erase yesterday's mail bulletin from the TriBBS Display directory. (bulletin 22 on my system) Change into the directrory where you have TriNet. Look for un-imported QWK packet - if not found jump to TOP in section 2., run trinet import if old QWK found delete the old packet. Move on to section 2. ---------- SECTION 2: Run trinet export to create your .REP file. Test to see if there is a REP or if there are no messages. If a REP packet is found jump to section 3. If no REP is found change into the MWORK directory Stamp the callers.log Proceed to section 3. ---------- SECTION 3: Change to the Qmodem directory, Run OH! to put modem back on-hook. Start qmodem using run-script command line. (The script will handle uploading and downloading, and will delete the REP packet only when it has been succesfull upload). When qmodem exits, put the modem off-hook again using OH! Test for a new .QWK packet, - if no QWK pakcet found, change to TriBBS mwork directory and stamp callers.log with an error message, then move to section 5. QWK packet is found, proceed to section 4. ---------- SECTION 4: Change into your trinet directory, Run trinet import on the new QWK packet. Delete the qwk packet when done. Change to TriBBS mwork directory and stamp callers log, Proceed to section 5. ---------- SECTION 5: Cange into your trinet directory, Put the modem back on-hook. (I do this here so the modem has time to recover before calling board.bat) Append the TriNet import bulletin to the callers.log. Copy the import bulletin to the appropriate TriBBS bullet__.BBS file. Delete the old import bulletin. Change to your tribbs directory Run board.bat to restart TriBBS. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Questions can be directed to | Doug Munson | | MMH - BBS 603-256-6931 | | 1200-16.8k bps HST & v.32bis or addressed to me in TriBBS_Support on WME/INTELEC/FIDO Nets.
