During it's development cycle, SOB took on a personality of it's own. This is not because of any short comings in BONK, but instead because of the facilities inherent in and, offered by OS/2. SOB is a 100% 32 bit OS/2 PM application and exploits some of the features of OS/2. Like the original BONK, SOB's is an outbound manager utility and a full featured FidoNet version 7 nodelist editor. SOB is 4D aware and supports Binkley 2.50+ point directories. Fakenets are not supported and there are no plans to support them. With the outbound manager you can: þ View a list of files in your outbound area. If you have points, they are included in the list automatically. þ Readdress files targeted for one system to another. þ Selectively erase files. þ Erase all files destined for a particular node. þ Outbound "cleanup" option to clean out your outbound. þ Send one or more files to another system. SOB provides a dialog where you can select one or more files in a subdirectory or tag the entire subdirectory for transmitting to a remote system. þ Request or update request files from another system. With the version 7 nodelist editor you can: þ Browse the nodelist. þ Add and delete nodes. þ Update existing entries þ Fast index searches on node number or SysOp name. þ Slower searches on system name, sysop name, and system location. Both the outbound manager and the nodelist editor have online, context sensitive help. QUICK START When you load SOB for the first time, you will be prompted for configuration information. The only information that is required is your node number and the nodelist and outbound directories. The other information is for possible future enhancements. This information is stored in a file called SOB.INI located in directory that was current when SOB was loaded. If you delete this file, you will be presented with the configuration dialog the next time you load SOB. You may also change your configuration information by clicking on "Options" from the menu bar then select "Configuration", or by pressing Alt+C. When loaded, SOB display the files in you outbound. Double clicking on any entry will cause a pop-up menu to be displayed with several actions you are allowed to perform. Clicking on "Misc" on the menu bar gives you other useful options. That's about if for a quick start. If you have any bug reports, please send them to me at 1:106/202, or post them in the Binkley echo.
