Version 2 of "Crossing the Red Sea" contains many improvements and new features over version 1. The entire perspective of the view is changed to a more natural one. The crossing now takes place at night, as the biblical narrative describes and the journey progresses toward the sunrise (east) rather than the sunset. A new scene has been added to represent the last half of the crossing and the land on the other side. The entire animation sequence at the end of the game is new. The graphics in the title screen have been improved and theme music, taken from a Hebrew folk song, has been added. The music and sound effects can be silenced by pressing F7 during the title sequence. Animation has been improved by having the stars twinkle and the sea sparkle at times. In preparation for the addition of extra question modules, the F10 key allows the user to select which questions to use. The players can elect to mix up the order of players in a random fashion to minimize arguments between young players. The range of question values is now 1-12 instead of 1-6 and the total is a percent of the way across. The program no longer runs on CGA or monochrome because of some of the animation requirements. Random replies are made to right and wrong answers to keep interest up. An early-registration discount has been implemented on a trial basis. More questions have been added at the lower levels so that there is less repetition. The INSTALL program has been enhanced to create a short RS.BAT file in the root directory so that the user can access the game from anywhere simply by typing RS. We appreciate any suggestions that would help to improve future versions.
