SB SPACE @ ARRL $ARLS064 ARLS064 Dove returns to the air QST de W1AW Space Bulletin 064 ARLS064 From ARRL Headquarters Newington, CT November 8, 1993 To all radio amateurs DOVE RETURNS TO THE AIR After a long absence, the DOVE-OSCAR 17 satellite is back on the air. It is presently sending packet telemetry and short text bulletins on 145.825 MHz FM. DOVE's transmissions can be copied by anyone with a 2-meter FM receiver and a standard packet radio TNC. Omnidirectional antennas such as groundplanes are adequate. The DOVE Recovery Team would like to receive telemetry reports. Send your reports to vk7zbxamsat.org (Internet), or to their CompuServe address: 71477,546. The most recent version of TLMDCII (3-8-92) will decode and record DOVE telemetry. For more information about obtaining a copy of the TLMDC program, contact AMSAT-NA at 301-589-6062. More work is required to get the satellite fully operational, but this is a major step. The ARRL congratulates the DOVE Recovery Team of Bob Diersing, N5HAD, Bill McCaa, K0RZ, and Jim White WD0E. /EX
