"Connecticut Digital Radio Network" CDRA was formed by a small band of TCPIPers in Connecticut to promote TCP/IP and develop a reliable, dynamic network to handle IP traffic through the state, and at the same time advance the technology of digital communications. At the present, CDRA is supporting 3 major data switches and other nodal stations that provide many various services to the TCP/IP community in Connecticut and surrounding states. CDRA has provided technical expertise, software development, site development, and equipment procurement to build the finest AMPRNet to date in Connecticut. The three switches in Bridgeport, Bethany and Portland are linked together on 70 cm at 9600 baud and support interconnection to the surrounding states by linking to other networks in New York, Northeast Connecticut and Massachusetts. 9600 baud 70 cm users are supported by a full duplex repeater at the Bethany Switch, with similar repeaters at Bridgeport and Portland to follow. 1200 baud users are supported at all three switches with 2 meter simplex ports. Additional services include a dedicated station to provide internet access to the worldwide QSO chat, local CDRA chat linking all CDRA stations, internet callbook server, domain server, and time server. Gateway stations are provided for IP to AX25 or AX25 to IP interchange to encourage nonTCP/IP aware packet users to explore the Connecticut AMPRNet.
