"House Rules" The TCP/IP network in Connecticut is being enhanced to provide IP connectivity for TCP/IP users. Traffic through the network is to be IP. If a user is served by a switch on frequency, the user should default route through the switch so traffic on the frequency can be managed by the switch. This eliminates the "hidden transmitter" problem that causes packet collisions and retries. Users served by a switch are DISCOURAGED from doing direct routing and/or ax25 connects on the switch frequency. Yes YOUR throughput may be increased, but what about other users? This system is to promote a "network" concept that addresses all users' needs. Users are ENCOURAGED to promote the use of TCP/IP and voice opinions as to the direction this network is to take. It's easy to criticize but hard to criticize in the right forum so things are improved. BE HEARD! GET INVOLVED!
