This problem occurs most often when faxing from Windows applications that consume a larger portion of system resources. Solution: ========= You must use a release of WinFax PRO 3.0 dated April 21, 1993 or later, and edit your WINFAX.INI file to specify a higher system priority for WinFax. To verify the release date of your software, pull down the Help menu in WinFax, and select About. Update to the April 21, 1993 release of WinFax PRO 3.0 if you have an earlier version of the software. For details on updating, see the following technical notes: 2074 -- WinFax PRO 3.0 Maintenance Release: April 21, 1993 9002 -- Downloading and Running Patches for Delrina Products To specify a higher system priority for WinFax: 1. Open the WINFAX.INI file in Windows Notepad, or any other basic text editor. The WINFAX.INI file is located in your WinFax directory (for example, C:\WINFAX). 2. Add the following entry to the [General] section of the WINFAX.INI file: Priority=High 3. Save the changes to the WINFAX.INI file and exit the text editor. The change takes effect when you next start WinFax. Note: This high priority setting allows WinFax to take complete control of Windows system resources during transmission, which results in more successfully sent faxes. However, while sending or receiving a fax, the Cancel button in WinFax is disabled and you cannot access other Windows applications. To disable the high priority setting in the WINFAX.INI file, place a semicolon at the start of the line, as follows: ;Priority=High
