If you are familiar with help in Windows, you should have no problem getting all of your questions answered... HELP! is available at any time by pressing F1. If you get stuck, or don't understand what you are supposed to do, pressing F1 is the first thing you should try. =========================================================================== Database Setup Database Setup Database Setup =========================================================================== The Stats Tracker is equipped with a special dialog box that will assist you in the setup of the program. You can find this dialog by selecting the menu command: "Assistance" + "New Season Assistance." Up pops a dialog with a set of graphical buttons. All options available in this dialog are also available as a menu commands. Here is a brief description of what each button will do for you: * "Open Season" - Open the fantasy football database (the database provided with this demo is 92_SEAS.DB). This is the first thing you'll want to do when you enter the program! * "Define Stats" - Use this to set up you fantasy football points system. For details on how to do this, press F1 after pressing the "Define Stats" button. * "Add FFL Owner" - This is how a Fantasy Football team is established. You must have a Fantasy Football team available in the database before NFL players are drafted, or rosters are manipulated. * "Add NFL Player" - Use this to add a NFL player to the database that does not exist. The database supplied contains all the players that passed, rushed, received, or kicked, in the NFL! * "Draft Players" - After Fantasy Football teams have been established, you may want to draft players onto the team. By default, a fantasy team starts with an empty roster. * "Change Roster" - A NFL player is, by default, inactive when drafted. You may want to activate some, or all, players after drafting them. * "Exit" - Leave this dialog and return to the main program. One thing you might try: create a fantasy team for your favorite NFL club, then draft all players for that team onto the fantasy team. This allows you to track the fantasy stats on that NFL team. The database should be set up after using all of the options in the "New Season Assistance." All that's left are the statistics... =========================================================================== WinWare BBS WinWare BBS WinWare BBS WinWare BBS =========================================================================== If you are interested in checking out what we're doing at WinWare, a BBS will be available in late August. JUST DO IT! =========================================================================== You may notice that there is a lot that needs to be done just to get up-and-going. It's important to understand that ANY Fantasy Football program will take some start up at the beginning of the season (i.e. establishing team franchises, and entering the initial draft picks). If you have ever used another fantasy program, you'll know that the "Database Setup," and "Uploading Stats," process is MUCH less time consuming in the NFL Stats Tracker! Well, that should be it for now! Have fun exploring the program.
