Windows Directory Compare Version 0.9 Pat Beirne This little program allows you to view the contents of one or two directories, allows file copy between them, and works with the Windows FileManager to support the creation and copy of 4DOS file descriptions. You could think of it as a DIRMATCH clone for Windows. The main manual is located in WDRM2.HLP. Keyboard Operation ================== Ctrl-A thru Z change source drive to disk A-Z Enter in the file list, execute the program in the file list, when there are 2 files, compare them in the drive or dir boxes, change directory Space in the file list, select the file on a button, execute it F1 wake up the help; not context sensitive Alt-2 change between 1-dir view and 2-dir view Alt-letter see the help file for more Esc quit quickly; no save Drag & Drop Summary =================== WDRM2 is intended to work closely with the Windows FileManager (WINFILE). You can drop files or directories onto WDRM2 at any time. Different things happend, depending on whether it is active or not. The general idea is that: WDRM2 allows you to add descriptions to file names WDRM2 allows you to copy files, along with the descriptions. All the drag & drop actions are intended to support these two principles. VERSIONS ======== Version 0.9 Added sort by extension. Date and time are now shown as per the WIN.INI [intl] format; this makes the screen shots in the .hlp file slightly incorrect. Close the help file on exit of main app. Add browse buttons to .hlp file. (Many thanks to Dieter Prifling, the author of WinDrop, for his suggestions). Version 0.8 Fixed a problem with file copy onto a nearly full disk. Added 'size-not-equal' symbol to 2-directory view. Change caption line during file launch. Check dest disk free space before file copy. Version 0.7 Fixed problem with removable drives that aren't there Hide the selection count in single-dir mode Version 0.6 Changed the drive and directory list to use icons. Changed the file copy code to allow other apps to run. Drives now show volume names. WARNINGS This program is sent out for comments only; use at your own risk. File copies are not guaranteed, and file descriptions are sometimes lost. Bugs and constructive feed back appreciated. Pat Beirne patb@corel.ca CServe: 76475,3640
