------------------------------------------------------------------------------ INFORMATION ON OTHER PROGRAMS AVAILABLE FROM OFFE ENTERPRISES Offe Enterprises 1163 E. Ogden Avenue, #705-131 Naperville IL 60563 USA Tel: (708)-357-6679 Fax:708-357-6683 BBS: (708)-357-6680 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Compiled Slideshow files ------------------------ When a user creates a slideshow file for VUIMAGE PLUS(tm), the user can execute the slideshow by typing: vuimgp -S sshow where "sshow" is the slideshow file. However, in some instances, the user may wish to distribute the slideshow for demo's etc. Since VUIMAGE PLUS(tm) is copyrighted material licensed to a single user (or licensed for a network installation as the case may be) and making copies of VUIMAGE PLUS(tm) is illegal, the user cannot distribute copies of VUIMAGE PLUS(tm) to display the slideshow. This is where "compiled slideshow" files come in. With a compiled slideshow file, you create a slideshow file and Offe Enterprises creates a "compiled" version of that slideshow file for a fee. The compiled version is a single executable file that, when executed, will do the slideshow, pretty much the same way VUIMAGE PLUS(tm) did when the slideshow file was specified to it using the "-S" parameter. The difference is that the compiled slideshow file may be copied and distributed royalty-free. To create a compiled slideshow, create a slideshow file, use VUIMAGE PLUS(tm) to test it with. Make sure it meets the "compilability" requirements listed below. Then send the following files to Offe Enterprises along with the fee: 1) slideshow file, 2) the VUIMAGE PLUS(tm) configuration file "VUIMGP.CFG", 3) the images. Usually the image files are assumed to be in the same directory as the executable slideshow file. If this is not the case, and hardcoded pathnames are to be used, use the "-dc" option to store the pathname. 4) the version number of VUIMAGE PLUS(tm) used to test the slideshow file Offe Enterprises will send back the compiled slideshow file, with the images. To be compilable, the slideshow file must meet the following "compilability" requirements: 1) All files must be in one file format (GIF, TIFF or PCX) 2) Only one file should be used with the "-C" parameter (i.e. no wild card characters in the filenames) and each file must be on a separate line 3) The slideshow file should be less than 2000 bytes 4) No SuperVGA driver should be specified Contact Offe Enterprises if you have requirements different from the above. A "compiled slideshow" order form is available from Offe Enterprises. Please call or fax. NOTE: The compiled slideshow file will work only with the images you supplied. If there are any changes to the images or to the slideshow file itself, a new compiled slideshow file will have to be created with appropriate payment of fees. All rights reserved. Converts a bilevel (black and white) or grayscale TIFF image to a same or lower resolution bilevel/grayscale image in TIFF or GIF format. EXAMPLE USES 1. Convert a scanned image in TIFF format (these are usually black and white images that have a large number of horizontal and vertical pixels) to a smaller image with grayscales so that the image can be viewed more completely on a VGA/EGA screen. The grayscales compensate for the loss of resolution caused when the image is reduced to a smaller size. 2. Convert a bilevel/grayscale TIFF file to a GIF file. 3. Reduce the filesize of TIFF files by scaling the image. The program can be executed non-interactively (for example, from a batch file. A demo version this program is available on many BBSes. SYNTAX: tbg [options] inputfile outputfile OPTIONS: -otiff output file in TIFF format. -ogif output file in GIF format. -xn where n=1,2,3,etc. Reduce the width by this factor. Example: -x2 reduces the width to half its value. -yn where n=1,2,3,etc. Reduce the height by this factor. Example: -y4 reduces the height to a quarter of its value. -bn where n=1 to 8. Set the number of bits per pixel in the output to n. If a lower number is sufficient, the lower number is used (also see the -f option). The maximum possible gray levels in the output is 2 to the power of this number. Example: -b4 sets the # bits/pixel to 4. -f force the number of bits/pixel to the value specified by the -b option -q quiet. Do not display input/output image information EXAMPLE: tbg -x4 -y4 -b2 input.tif output.tif tbg -ogif input.tif output.gif ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ TIFCOMB(tm) TIFF File Combine Utility Copyright (C) 1992-1993 Offe Enterprises. All rights reserved. This utility can be used to combine many TIFF files into one TIFF file that contains all the images from each of the files. VUIMAGE PLUS(tm) can display such mutiple-page TIFF files. EXAMPLE: tifcomb infile1.tif infile2.tif outfile.tif ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ SCRtoPS(tm) - Screen Capture to PostScript PRINT PC SCREENS TO POSTSCRIPT PRINTER OR CAPTURE TO ENCAPSULATED POSTSCRIPT FILE FOR INCORPORATION INTO DOCUMENTS for IBM PC + Adobe PostScript Printers and Compatibles Performs screen captures directly into PostScript by pressing Shift-PrintScreen. Use to include screen snapshots in your documents (including line/box/upper ASCII characters) or to print from software that does not support postscript. Supports Text and graphics modes including IBM character graphics on CGA, EGA, VGA and some SuperVGA. Text modes use the Courier font for standard ASCII characters. Send postscript output to LPT1/LPT2/LPT3 ports, COM1/COM2 ports or disk files. Send to postscript printer directly or import file into Desk-Top Publishing packages like Ventura Publisher/ WordPerfect for use with PostScript printers. Supports color to greyscale conversion on EGA/ VGA/SuperVGA and xon/xoff on com ports Uses minimal memory - less than 10K when resident - can be removed from memory. Graphics cursor indicates progress, screen capture can be aborted User selectable landscape/portrait mode, x, y sizes, and -d at end-of-job Built-in help facility ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Post-Screen(tm) - Screen capture to Postscript (Includes SCRtoPS(tm) described above). Further processes the postscript output generated by SCRtoPS(tm) (Screen Capture to Postscript) so that foreground/background color information for TEXT screens can be translated to different foreground thicknesses and background gray shades on the printout. The printed manual for VUIMAGE PLUS(tm) contains screens captured using Post-Screen(tm). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Prices subject to change without notice.
