NCSA Mosaic for Microsoft Windows User's Guide

System Requirements

NCSA Mosaic for Microsoft Windows requires an absolute minimum of an 80386SX-based machine with 4Mb of RAM running Microsoft Windows 3.1 in 386-enhanced mode. The recommended configuration is a 33-MHz, or faster, 80486-based machine with at least 8 Mb of RAM.

NCSA Mosaic also requires a WinSock 1.1-compliant Windows sockets library (WinSock DLL or winsock.dll). See ``Checking the WinSock DLL'' for further information.

To access materials on the Internet, your system must have a direct connection to the Internet or you must have the capability to establish a dial-up SLIP or PPP connection to a system with a direct Internet connection.
