NCSA Mosaic for Microsoft Windows User's Guide
This area provides two types of information:
- Feedback regarding the transfer of a document
- While NCSA Mosaic is attempting to access, transfer, and display
a document, status messages will appear in the status bar.
- The URL associated with a hyperlink
- If the cursor is pointing to a hyperlink and Show Anchor URLs
(on the Options menu) is active, the URL for the associated
file will be displayed in the status bar.

The three boxes on the right indicate whether caps lock, number lock,
or scroll lock are set.
If the status bar is displayed, selecting Options ... Show Status
Bar will hide it. Repeating the process will display it again.
If anchor URLs, the URLs associated with hyperlinks, are not being
displayed in the status bar, selecting Options ... Show Anchor
URLs will cause them to be displayed. Repeating the process will
prevent their appearance.
