NCSA Mosaic for Microsoft Windows User's Guide

Searching for a Character String

NCSA Mosaic includes a search function that enables you to find a character string, a word, or a phrase in the current document.
The Find window

NCSA Mosaic searches the entire document. If the string is found, NCSA Mosaic will position the document so the first occurrence of the string appears within the document display area. Clicking again on Find Next will find the next occurrence of the string. If the string is not found, the message "Failed to find string!" will appear.

NCSA Mosaic for Microsoft Windows' search capacity is limited to the current document; unless you are working through a WAIS or Gopher interface, the program does not have any means to search for a character string in a set of documents or on a server.
