Hi There, Fellow OS/2'ers One of the utilities I have been searching for ( as many others have ), is a ToolBar Like application. We don't use iconnames ( except for file listings ) and just want the icon. My personal angle on that is a toolbar similar to NextStep. There simply are no OS/2 native applications ( or EWS freeware ), which allows icon only folders. So, following the lead of the file AMAZDESK.ZIP, I took the button design from, I simply designed a 1024X768@256 color bitmap which was blank, except for the ButtonBar on the right. The icon titles are 1 point Helv, so as not to annoy me. To keep it from being totally boring, I imported the bitmap OS2DRNG.BMP into it ( which was 800.600.256 in size...perfect ! ) to give it the look of a regular desktop. Of course, this is not the most perfect imitation of the NextAppBar, but it passes close enough to it to satisfy me. It can be easily modified from the bitmaps I included during the 10 minute process, and can readily be adapted to lower resolutions ( although the 256 color icons wont show up as well ...) Note: The bottom gap at the end of the bar is for two other apps I use: GWCLOCK ( EWS ) and NOBOOT, both little bar apps which filled that gap perfectly. The whole shebang was primarily done with two applications: PMJPEG ( Shareware OS/2 graphics app ) Adobe Photoshop ( Overpriced Graphics Manipulation App, but writes OS/2 BMP ) The only thing required to get going is a OS/2 graphics manipulator, which can resize BMP's at the pixel level, and a OS/2 app which edits the same files ( without size limitations ).
