Do NOT use the Full Install option for this demo!
Instead, use the Custom Install option as explained below!!

We have courteously created 2 forms of setups:

    * one for people who will be using a General MIDI compliant
      synthesizer and/or sound card, and

    * one for people who will be using an FM-based sound card
      (such as the "Sound Blaster" or complatibles)

General MIDI devices play drums on channel #10, and FM-based sound
cards have limited percussion sounds and are accessed from channel
#16.  So we have created 2 sets of kits for this demo, one of which
plays drum sounds on channel #10 and the other plays the drum sounds
on channel #16.  Only one of those sets of kits can be installed, and
you must select which one from the custom installation screen.


====>  After this screen, select the CUSTOM option.
====>  Then from the custom install screen, select either (a) or (b)
====>  MAKE SURE TO ALSO SELECT THE "REQUIRED DEMO PROGRAM FILES"
====>  The last option is for the Standard MIDI Files ("SMF").  These samples
       are not compressed, so you need not copy them again in order to 
       inspect & play them (but we have provided the option if you want to keep
       all of the demo files into the same directory).  You may simply load them
       directly into either your sequencer or the Windows Media Player.


After the file copying part of the installation has completed, you will be
presented with a dialog that will allow you to initially set the mapping of
your Windows MIDI device drivers to each of the 4 logical ports used by
Rhythm Brainz or Rhythm Brainz PLUS.

If you have more than 4 MIDI device drivers installed into your Windows
system, then you will only be able to assign and use up to the first 4.
Select for the first logical port the MIDI Output driver that you will be 
using as your primary sound source.  This is because all of the supplied
kits, and sample patterns & songs have been constructed to play through
the device assigned to logical port #1.


Rhythm Brainz & Rhythm Brainz PLUS use a unique method of playing sounds.
The software’s unique pattern-based architecture works with kits (which
are fully explained in the User Guide), where the voices in each kit play 
out of a logical port.  Each of the 4 possible logical ports must map to
one of your Windows MIDI device drivers installed into your system.

Windows MIDI device drivers fall into 2 categories: 
    1. MIDI interfaces, and 
    2. Internal synthesizers/sound engines; as is the case with sound cards.

   
Please be aware that in addition to their internal sound engine that most
sound cards also have a MIDI port, and therefore have installed 2 Windows
device drivers in your Windows system.  Make certain to select the correct 
Windows MIDI device driver for the first logical port or you will not hear
anything when you first run Rhythm Brainz or Rhythm Brainz PLUS!  Generally
the device driver to use with your sound card will have a name that somewhat
matches the name of your sound card type, model, or manufacturer.
For example: "SB FM SYNTH", "VOYETRA SUPER SAPI FM DRIVER", etc. 
The device driver name for a sound card’s MIDI port, usually is something like
this: "MPU-401 MIDI OUT".  You must have an external MIDI synthesizer (or
drum machine, etc.) connected to the MIDI output of your sound card to hear
anything!

The device driver selection utility that will pop-up during the installation. 
Click one of the Available MIDI Device Drivers, then click the Add->  button
to sequentially assign your available device drivers to one of the logical
port numbers.  Do this for each driver.

Make sure your first (add) selection will be the device you intend to use
as your primary sound source; this should be your sound card’s driver if a
sound card is all that you have!

Use  <-Remove or  Clear All  if you make a mistake and need to remove one or
all assignments.  Once you gain familiarity with the software, you will see
that you can use the Studio Manager module to change the Windows MIDI device
driver-to-logical port assignments. 


Additional information regarding installing and using the demo softare is provided
in two document files (in Windows Write format).  You may view and print that
information using "Write".  For your convenience, icons to quickly open
those documents will be installed into the "RBZPDEMO" program group
which will be created by this installation process.

One of those documents, "READTHIS.WRI" is not compressed and can be viewed
without being installed.  That document contains information about our products,
