hw !! N E W Q W K N E T W O R K !! cDEWEY-NET The Library of Information And Idea Exchange Network! I designed DEWEY-NET for the System Operator who wants to network with a small message group to host a broad range of messages to suit most anyone's interest. Message threads range from moronically fun to politically serious. DEWEY-NET uses the ten divisions of the Dewey Decimal system to categorize all public message threads into ten message boards. Each user can theoretically create their own conferences by maintaining a well titled message thread on the appropriate DEWEY-NET board. I would prefer that DEWEY-NET be free to its users. However I do understand the need to have users reimburse the cost of Long Distance Charges. DEWEY-NET BY-LAWS I believe in free speech and I am down on sensorship. But you won't catch me yelling "Theatre" in a crowded fire house and I expect users to use the same common sense. System Operators reserve the right to move or delete any message thread deemed inappropriate for any DEWEY-NET sub-board OR for their BBS. Issues Concerning DEWEY-NET will be discussed on the Syops Only sub-board. DEWEY-NET tries to be a family oriented BBS with no X-rated material. (Nothing lower than FOX television standards) CONFERENCE CONFIGURATION Aliases (User handles, call signs, etc) are allowed. Private messages are allowed (use of PGP recommended). Anonymous message are NOT ALLOWED. Extended ASCII and Synchronet(TM) "control A" codes are allowed. Maximum number of lines per message is 250. DEWEY-NET should be QWK networked only. Please contact James Hayter @CYNE [Dove-net] for permission to gate the message base through another network. The originating DEWEY-NET hub is CYNE Languages BBS and QWK networked Only. 509.682.3205 | 14,400. To subscribe to DEWEY-NET, Log On to CYNE Languages BBS using a four to eight character mnemonic representing the name of your BBS. Once on, send feedback or e-mail to James Hayter (me -- the Sysop) stating that this account name will be your QWK network node Identification. You may add any other comments to your message. CYNE Languages BBS defaults to a custom command shell. Select "Your Account Configuration" to switch to the familier "Synchronet Classic" command shell. Follow the instructions in your BBS documentation on how to setup a QWK networked message group.
