   BBS Consultants, Inc. has acquired the rights to The Classified Manager.

   Hi, I'm Tom Faulkner, President of BBS Consultants, Inc. In version
2.0 of TCM adds the ability to charge users for posting ads. That sounds
simple enough but the result is a fairly massive addition to and change
of the existing code. That coupled with the fact that my bbs (Downtown
1-929-383-4905) is a small board means that TCM v2.0 has been released
with less beta testing that I would have preferred. The existing code
was solid but there is still a 100% probability that there are bugs.
Report them, and I'll make every effort to fix them promptly. I do
monitor the GW Associates Software Support message area frequently and
you are welcome to post any error reports or enhancement requests to my
attention there. In fact, that's the preferred way.

   The costing module for The Classified Manager permits you to charge
users for the privilege of posting ads.

   TCM permits you to charge a different price in each classification or
even to make posting to a classification free.

   TCM allows you to select any combination of American Express, Visa,
MasterCard, Discover, or Prepaid for payment methods. Included is a
program (CREDITS.TPG) for the express purpose of permitting you to sell
prepaid credits via a service from FAMOUS.

   There are a variety of ways to charge users for posting an ad. The
simplest is to charge a fixed fee for each post. You can; however,
charge by the word, either a fixed fee to enclose a file or by the
kilobyte. You can charge to "update" an ad. You can set a minimum charge
for an ad. Lastly, you can charge a lump sum for entering the ad, or you
can charge for each day the ad is to run. There are no provisions for
crediting a user if an ad is cancelled so you should make sure your
users understand that if they enter an ad for 6 months and cancel it the
next day they won't receive a refund unless you elect to do so manually.
