The Postcard Store Review Copyright (c) 1995, Joe DeRouen All rights reserved Postcards From the Edge of the Web by Joe DeRouen When words alone can't seem to express how you feel, point your WWW browser to http://postcards.www.media.mit.edu/Postcards and send a postcard to a friend. You can choose an image from literally dozens of folders; anything from the ever-popular Insect Drawings to the classic works of Da Vinci and Van Gogh to the whimsey of Alice in Wonderland illustrator Sir John Tenniel. Once you make your selection, (who could ever resist Pea Weevil Life Cycle on a postcard?) write a short note to go with the card, address it, and mail it off. You don't even have to buy a stamp. Your recipient will soon get e-mail with a claim number and notification that their postcard is awaiting them at the site's pick-up window. The lucky claimant then need only make his way to The Electric Postcard, enter the identification number, and pick up the missive. It's a good idea to make sure your recipient has a graphical-based web browser; text-based ones such as Lynx can see the message, but not the image itself. And, really, what's a message without a Pea Weevil to go with it anyway?
