Thank you for purchasing or trying OpenHome! OpenHome generates attractive, easy-to-understand information sheets about property which is for sale. OpenHome is primarily designed for the Mortgage Banker, but can also be used by Realtors. The information sheet generated by OpenHome uses figures for loan products currently available in your area, including conventional fixed- and adjustable- rate loans as well as FHA loans. Loan program information is easily updated on a single information panel and the information sheet is calculated and displayed immediately. Hard copies of the information sheet are tools that allow the Mortgage Banker to go into the field and develop working relationships with Realtors hosting open houses. With a professional look and easy-to-understand financial information, the Realtor is more likely to seek you as a first source of loan information for their perspective buyer. OpenHome will pay for itself on the very first loan you get! OpenHome is a shareware program. This evaluation version includes all features of the program. You may evaluate this program for 30 days. If you like the program, and wish to register it, you are required to pay for the program (see the on-line help or the About Box for more details). Any fee you may have paid to others (disk vendors, dealers, etc.) to obtain this evaluation version was a fee for their copying and distribution services, rather than a payment for continued use of the program. During printing, the shareware version of OpenHome will prompt the user for his/her name and company. (This step is unnecessary in the registered version as this information is already encoded.) Fonts may now be selected by the user by a simple mouse click when the section of interest is reverse-video highlighted. Menu item have been redesigned and laid out and an easy-to-use menu bar has been added. A status bar has also been added to remind the user what each menu item and menu bar icon do. This shareware version also reminds the user how many days are left in the evaluation period. No action will be taken at the end of the evaluation period. Primarily because of the MDI model, OpenHome now used an .INI file for remembering user defined defaults. (A menu item will update the .INI file with the user's current choices.) Finally, OpenHome supports the drag-and-drop model for opening files: A previously generated OpenHome file may be re-opened by simply dragging it from the file manager to OpenHome. Choose one of the installation procedures based on which version of OpenHome you have received: A) To install the shareware version of OpenHome, unzip the archive (or just copy the files if it was already unzipped) to an empty directory (e.g., c:\openhome). Make sure Windows is running and launch setup.exe. B) To install the registered version of OpenHome, launch setup.exe directly from the floppy. After prompting you for an installation directory (with drive letter), setup.exe will move the necessary files (while decompressing them) to your chosen directory. Setup.exe will then create the OpenHome initialization file, openhome.ini. The setup program will then, with your permission, install OpenHome in the Program Manager. When you launch OpenHome from this icon, data items will be initialized internally. If data in this initialization is inappropriate for your area, please see the Files section in the help file for information on how to make OpenHome initialize with other data values. Finally, setup.exe will modify the Windows registration database in order to associate file with the .OHT extension with OpenHome. If later, you decide to remove OpenHome from your system, you can remove this reference from the registration database with the Windows tool, regedit.exe. See its online help for more information on how to do this. If you have question, you can reach Temprano Software on the Internet at temprano@netheaven.com. (Be sure to include your E-mail address in the body of your letter as some mail servers do not encode the return address properly.) As a registered user of OpenHome, you will receive unlimited E-mail support for the life of the product. You can receive the latest shareware version of OpenHome by anonymous ftp from ftp.netheaven.com.
