v0.9b 28-5-95 bulid 0004 Gday people, What is Inf-HTML..... Inf-HTML is a set of Os/2 applications designed for people who run world wide web servers, such as Frankie Fan's Os/2 port of httpd, or who wish to provide access via the WWW to information in Os/2 INF/HLP files. The version mentioned here is an Os/2 binary put binaries for other systems (such as SunOs and Linux exist!) These programs provide 1. an interface between Os/2 Inf and Hlp files and a webserver. 2. a way to convert Os/2 Inf/Hlp files to HTML. 3. a debugging mechanism By using these programs it is possible to place Inf and Hlp files, or portions of them, on the WWW. Inf-HTML.EXE provides "live" access to data within Inf/Hlp files without the creation of other files. Inf-FILE.EXE converts Inf/Hlp files to a stack of linked HTML files. Included is Rony Flatscher's ih2rex package to turn this stack of files into a single HTML file - or selective portions into a single HTML file. DEBG.EXE is included for anyone interested in the internals of it all. For how to use this program, and its limitations etc. see the INF file inf-html.inf (view by typing "view inf-html" at the prompt). To have a look at some of the output produced by Inf-HTML when used with os2httpd v1.04 and WebExplorer beta check out the gifs (article*.gif, toc*.gif ) To have a look at some of the output produced by Inf-HTML when used with os2httpd v1.04 and NetScape 1.1N for Windows check out netscape.gif. This product is Email-ware... if you use it then please send me a message on how you use it - and if you maintain pages on-line with it a URL would be nice too... All suggestions are taken seriously. (serious ones ;-) ) See the documentation for Copyright stuff.... To contact the author send mail to Peter Childs (pjchilds@apanix.apana.org.au) PS. Please be aware that placing online documentation of commercial applications online may be a violation of copyright. For example, the Os/2 online docs (like the commmand reference used in the gif file examples) should not be placed online.
