Please send comments to: 72241.1777@compuserve.com *********************************************************************** IMPORTANT: In order for this help file to run and display properly, the file D2HTOOLS.DLL included in this package should be copied to your WINDOWS\SYSTEM directory. You can do this with your favorite file manager or from the DOS prompt. To copy the file from the DOS prompt, type COPY D2HTOOLS.DLL C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM Then follow the desktop installation instructions below. *********************************************************************** INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Installing this file on your Windows desktop is quite simple: 1) Copy all the files in the archive to a subdirectory of your choice. 2) Load Windows and select the program group where you want the icon located. From the Program Manager, select the File, New pull-down menu and click on the "Program Item" choice. 3) In the "Program Item Properties" dialog, type the path and filename (WIN95PCM.HLP) into the "Command Line" box or use Browse to move to the subdirectory containing the help file. Change the file type setting to "All files (*.*)" and double-click on the WIN95PCM.HLP file. 4) Type an entry in the "Description" box, such as "Getting Ready for Windows 95." 5) Select one of the two supplied icons (ZD.ICO or ZD2.ICO) by clicking on the "Change Icon ..." button and using the "Browse" function to select the desired icon from the appropriate subdirectory. When complete, click on "OK". The icon you selected should appear in the current Program Group, and double-clicking on the icon will load the help file. -------------------------- TO RUN A HELP FILE WITHOUT INSTALLING IT ON THE DESKTOP: There are three ways to do this. 1) Hit F1 from anywhere within Windows. Pull down File, Open, and navigate to the location of the help file. 2) Double click on the .HLP file in Windows' File Manager. 3) You can launch the WIN95PCM.HLP file (and load Windows) directly from the DOS command line by moving to your \Windows subdirectory and typing: WINHELP {pathname}\WIN95PCM.HLP [ENTER] -------------------------- USING THE HELP FILE You can move around the file by clicking on an item whenever the "hand" cursor appears. Using the "<<" or ">>" arrows will move you through the headings one at a time. The "Search" button will display an alphabetical list of every heading in the file. The "Back" button will move you back to your previous choice, and the "History" button will display all the topics accessed during the current session.
