Instructions for installing the shareware version of STAR MENU for Windows: ----------------------------------------- 1. Create a temporary subdirectory, and copy the zip file (e.g. STARWN**.ZIP) into it; use PKUNZIP to expand the compressed files. 2. Load Windows (you must be in Windows to run the STAR MENU setup program). 3. From the Windows menu bar, click on "FILE", then click on "RUN" ("START" then "RUN" if using Windows 95); at the "FILE-RUN prompt", type the name of the temporary subdir. followed by "SETUP.EXE" (e.g. C:\TEMPDIR\SETUP.EXE). 4. After the STAR MENU for Windows setup program loads, simply follow the instructions on the screen; if the installation is successful a new STAR MENU program group/icons will be automatically created. 5. Load Windows (you must be in Windows to run the STAR MENU setup program). 2. From the Windows menu bar, click on "FILE", then click on "RUN" ("START" then "RUN" if using Windows 95); at the "FILE-RUN prompt", type the floppy drive containing the STAR MENU Disk, followed by "SETUP.EXE" (e.g. A:\SETUP.EXE). 3. After the STAR MENU for Windows setup program loads, simply follow the instructions on the screen; if the installation is successful a new STAR MENU program group/icons will be automatically created. 4. From the STAR MENU group, click on the STAR MENU for Windows icon to run.... If during installation an error message appears which indicates a problem with "SETUPKIT.DLL" (this is the Library Installation DLL which is used during the STAR MENU installation), then you may need to do the following: 1. Rename your existing "SETUPKIT.DLL" file which is stored in your WINDOWS\SYSTEM subdirectory; this may be done using the File Manager in Windows-3.x or Explorer in Windows 95 (you may rename the file to almost anything - e.g. "SETUPKIT.OLD") 2. Re-run the STAR MENU Setup program After STAR MENU is properly installed, simply click the STAR MENU icon, or use the Windows 95 "Start" button (followed by "Programs", "STAR MENU for Windows" (group), "STAR MENU for Windows" (program) options).
