April 9, 1993 Re: JOTTING - a casual hand print font. (Regular, Italic, Bold, and Bold Italic) Shareware Cost: $20.00 U.S. _ 1993, All rights reserved, S. Salazar, Vancouver, B.C. Mac and P.C. Versions. Hello, Type Lover (and honest shareware supporter): If you're like me, you can never have enough type faces. It seems there's always a project that comes along that begs for something you just don't have. Yes, there may be a type face that comes close but some subtlety of a quirk bothers you but you grin and bare it and compromise your design. Or if you are determined or crazy enough, you create your own font... tailor-made for the specific project. That is how "Jotting" came about. I needed a simple hand print, not as technical looking as Tekton, not as predictable as Dom Casual, and not as unpredictable as others... I needed something casual, as if written with a Pilot Fine Liner. Jotting comes in the four styles you have become accustomed to getting: Regular, Italic, Bold, and Bold Italic. It does not contain every character (i.e. European, with the exception of accents for Spanish words), it is intended for basic uncomplicated text and headings. Depending on the demand and comments I receive, I may or may not develop a complete character set. The reason for not bothering at the outset was that I wanted to keep the printer files, as well as the screen font files, as small as possible. There is one character that is not standard to other fonts, a square bullet. To generate the square bullet press: OPTION-SHIFT-8. The normal bullet is the standard OPTION-8. (Not sure about PC keyboard equivalents.) When loading the screen font for use with ATM, you just need to load Jotting-Regular in 12 and/or 18 points. This is the root font which has been linked to the other three styles. If you like the looks of Jotting and decide to use it, then help me put my kids through college, or art school. The cost is only $20.00 U.S. ($5 per style is not bad, is it?). Canadian users, your cost is $25.00 Cdn. Send your check or money order to: S. Salazar 5037 Kersland Drive Vancouver, B.C.
