About Top Task

     Top Task is a task managing system that will allow you to manage most applications and their windows. Top Task is unique in that it takes up the first 20 pixels (640 x 480 mode) of the screen and resizes all other application windows to fit below it. This keeps Top Task visible at all times for easy access. Top Task's main function is to allow you to easily switch between applications running under Windows. Top Task also lets you to manage the application windows by maximizing, minimizing, cascading or restoring them. Top Task also displays the time, date, memory available and percentage of system resource available. Top Task also provides quick access buttons for Program Manager, File Manager, Control Panel and the MS DOS Prompt.

     I first had the idea for Top Task last year while creating a system menu bar for Windows. I discovered that a tool bar (task bar) worked best in Windows. In many ways Top Task was written to aid me in managing all of the applications I would have running under Windows. It is a lot easier to manage your applications from a central point that is visible all of the time. Top Task will allow you to quickly switch between applications running under Windows. Top Task  has a great feature that will let you maximize or minimize all visible windows at once. A majority of Windows applications need their windows to be maximized to use them effectively. Since Top Task is always visible you can simply switch between maximized windows.

I have planed many new features for Top Task in the near future such as a program managing system, tile feature for application windows and much more.

INSTALLATION
=============

To Install Top Task just copy it to a directory on your hard drive. You can run "TOPTASK.EXE" via File Manager or install it in the startup window in Program Manager.


System Requirements:
CPU: 386 or better
Memory: 200k (Should work all 2meg and better computer systems)
Resource: 2%

* Top Task DOES NOT create or modify the system.ini or win.ini files.
* Make sure you keep all the files included in the compressed file in the same directory.
* When Top Task Loads click on the question mark button for help.
