If you need to get to DOS, trying to find the exact timing to stop Windows from loading is next to impossible. You either do not stop it at all or you break out of your autoexec.bat to early, and miss items needed to set your machine up properly (how many times have you had a C> prompt?) WinStop ends this problem. It pops up a 20 second timer that allows you to cancel the loading of Windows. If you do not stop the timer, it will load Windows as it always has. This allows you to turn on your machine in the morning, get your cup of coffee, and still have Windows loaded the way you wanted it to. I hope WinStop is as useful to you as it is to us. C: C:\ MD winstop CD winstop COPY A:*.* Replace the line that loads Windows (usually WIN) in your autoexec.bat file with: CALL C:\WINSTOP\WINSTOP.BAT That's all there is to it! USE: 컴컴� WinStop will display a menu each time you boot. It will begin counting down the number of seconds specified in the TTWINSP.CFG file. The default is 25 seconds, but you can modify it. After the counter hits 0, the program will exit and load Windows. If you want to load Windows imeadiately, press the space bar. If you do not want to go into windows, press any key (other than ) to return to the main screen with the menu. You may then choose to load Windows or to return to DOS (Pressing twice from the count down window will load DOS). To edit the seconds that WinStop waits, use an ASCII editor (such as EDIT in DOS 5.x and 6.x) to edit TTWINSP.CFG. The second line contains a number - which is the number of seconds WINSTOP will wait before loading Windows.
