When Pascal-Net started back in 1993, there was no other network known which used this number. The NOZ and the AllZones listings were confered for this purpose. Pascal-Net shall therefor not change this zonenumber, for whatever reason. The nodelist stucture is build up like this: 115:115/0 ZC ³ ÚÂÂÂÂÅ¿ 115:??00/0 [ ??/??? = international access code. ] 115:???0/0 [ eg, 31 for the Netherlands ] National ÄÄÄÄÂÄ115:??xx/0 Hosts ÃÄ115:???x/0 [ x/xx = A regional number, assigned ] ÃÄRegional [ by national hosts. Numbered from ] ÀÄHosts [ (0)1 to (9)9 maximum. ] ³ ÚÄÂÄÂÁÂÄÂÄ¿ 115:??xx/y [ y is a single digit hub number. ] 115:???x/y [ /1 is always the same person as /0 ] Hubs [ assigned by regional host ] ³ ÚÄÂÄÂÄÂÄÂÄÂÄÂÁÂÄÂÄÂÄÂÄÂÄÂÄ¿ 115:??xx/yzz [ zz is a double digit nodenumber, ] 115:???x/yzz [ ranging from 01 to 99. Assigned by ] (PVT) nodes [ the hub. ] ³ ÀÄÄÄÄÄÄÄÂÄ115:??xx/yzz.p(ppp) [ p(ppp) is a free ] ÃÄ115:???x/yzz.p(ppp) [ range, assigned ] ÀÄPoints [ by the node. ] The nodelist is created every Friday. Before Friday morning, the nodelist compiler at 115:115/115 needs to have all the neccesary data. This must be done from the bottum up. Even though no changes may have arrissen, hubs need to inform the regional hosts of all members of the net below him/her. The Regional host has to do the same towards the national host. The national host then informs 115:115/115. There is no Pascal-Net point list arround. Also a DIFF file will not be distributed until the net has grown big enough for it. Every Pascal-Net member must have a point/nodenumber. However, BBS-users are also free to read the Pascal-Net message area, and download the Pascal- Net files. Also QWK users and other non-Fido based networks may use Pascal-Net (like Internet), as long as ANY user may be contacted directly via the gateway supplier. This means that any user must have an unique name or node/point number, so they can be reached when needed. A gateway supplier is also responsible for all the messages going via his/her system. When a newer versions of this document occur, this document (1.2) will be invalid. Your Faithfully, Marc van Leeuwen Net-Co-ordinator ³ Pascal-Net ³ ÀÄ 115:115/0. ÄÙ
