MicroProse announces TRANSPORT TYCOON: WORLD EDITOR MicroProse, leading publisher of high quality leisure software, is proud to announce the release of Transport Tycoon: World Editor for the IBM PC and Compatibles. Transport Tycoon: World Editor is an add-on disk to the highly successful Transport Tycoon, the strategy masterpiece from Chris Sawyer. Although the original Transport Tycoon product is still needed to run the World Editor, it is specifically designed to extend the gameplay and options of the original title by offering the player a new challenge and new freedom to create the starting conditions for gameplay. Rather than starting in randomly generated 3D worlds, you get to control and build your own world from scratch. You get to create the terrain, seas, lakes, rivers, mountains, towns and industries. There is also a modem option added to increase the options for gameplay. At the beginning of a new game, the player is given the opportunity to create a scenario. They are presented with a bare sea-scape with no land or other features on this map. They can then utilise the series of icons at the top of the screen that allow them to: * Build terrain on the map in any position they desire, the size of the areas of terrain they lays down are variable. * Place towns on the map. The size of the towns can be varied indefinitely. Towns can of course be named by the player. * Place bridges on the map. * Place industries and farms on the map Once the player has created their scenario they can save it, exit the editor and then play the scenario as a normal game. The most visual feature of the World Editor is the new world graphics set. The world is an alternative Mars theme, or to be more precise, what Mars would have looked like it had it been colonised in the year 1930. The look and feel is very much a Jules Verne -Steam-punk- look with earthy rust colours, bolts and rivets on the vehicles and gold and silver on the buildings. Transport Tycoon: World Editor will be available in March 1995 for the IBM PC compatibles.
