This script will automaticly switch WinFax on and off, as well as a simple BBS on and off and call a pager to inform you of waiting voice messages or faxes. To use this script to its fullest you will need: - Telix for Windows v1.01c or later - Winfax - Distictive ring feature (purchased from your phone company) - two modems - numeric / alpha numeric pager I wrote this script because I needed some sort of a FAX switch and was unwilling to pay $150 for a hardware one, especially when such a thing should be able to be done in software. I played about with the concept of writing a new COMM.DRV for windows but decided that this was too ominous a task for me. Though it would be the ideal way to do it! I had several old 2400 baud modem kicking around and ended up settling on the easiest way, which was to write a Telix script. (As of v1.01c Telix can support DDE which means it can do this!) The script itself is fairly well documented and you should be able to get it running with out to much difficulty, but it might require you to know a bit about Telix Script programming. Remember you have to have a second modem and it must have its own IRQ line. In my case, my old 2400 baud modem did not physically support this and my USR Sportster is external so I had to litteraly rewire the modem to operate on IRQ 5. If this works for you, or if you can't get it working for you, E-mail me. I would like to know if anyone else finds this as useful as I do. cheers, darryl.moore@canrem.com
