                          KwikWrite

This document puts the KwikWrite processor through its
paces to show you how your printer will behave. First, we
will cover some commands which may or may not be supported
by your printer.

.emp'turns emphasize on
Emphasized type, turned on by the command ".EMP", when
supported by your printer, causes type to appear darker
than normally.
.nem'turns emphasized off

.dou'turns double on
Double strike, signaled by ".DOU" may cause your printer
to strike a character twice, giving a heavy character.
.nod'turns double off

.wid
.cen
Centered Wide

.wid
Wide type (.WID), when supported by your printer, is
generally twice as wide as normal type. Note that it lasts
for only line.

.jus
.com'turns compressed on

Centered Compressed

Compressed type, when supported, (.COM) causes the printer
to print in smaller characters than normal. Notice that this
may effect the position of the margins.
.noc'turns compressed off
.s
.bol
.cen
Centered Bold
.bol'turns bold on
BOLD TYPE
.bre

Bold type (.BOL) may be supported, and is also turned off
after one line is printed.

.just 'tells processor to begin justifying text
.lm 20
Left and right margin may be set with the commands ".LM #"
and ".RM #", where # is the column of the margin setting.
You may instruct the processor to justify text between
these margins with the ".JUST" command.

.par
Paragraphing is performed with the ".PAR" command. You may
also set negative indents for paragraphing with the ".IND
#" command.

.ind -5
.par
A negative indent, called an "undent", makes it easy to set
the first part of a paragraph out to the left for a
different emphasis. This makes numbering of pargraphs easy
too.

NOTE: Keep in mind that some of these commands react
differently on different printers. The KwikWrite manual
(appendix) explains how specific printers are supported.

.lm 10
Titles may be set with the ".TITLE " command. Once set they
will appear at the top of each page as it occurs. There are
various options associated with the title and ".page"
command.

Prompt for an entry causes the printer to pause, and wait
for you to enter one line of text, so you can do runtime
entry of text.

.bold
.PROMPT Please enter your name and press ENTER:

.spa 2
The command ".SPA 2" causes the processor to begin double
spacing. Triple spacing is ".SPA 3", and single spacing
may be returned to with ".spa 1"
.spa 1
